Democracy: All That Matters argues that we are facing a crisis of democracy. This is a crisis of growth, what with the Arab Spring and possible change in Burma and elsewhere, and it is a crisis of alienation & stagnation for the more established democracies. The problems of extending democracy to a transnational level, and the uncontrolled power exerted by financial markets and the wealthy, are threatening the core of democratic values and effectiveness.
