Yogasana Cover - CTP

Present book on Yoga philosophy comes to the light when whole world is looking for a healing science and technologies to overcome the dis balances and disharmonies  experiencing  in physical mental and social health of many individuals. The balancing mechanisms leading to environmental  friendly healthy lives are deeply rooted  in both Ayurveda as well as the Yogi teachings, thus the book will help the readers to understand basic theories and concepts of the yogi philosophy and practice them to maintain a healthy life.

It is worth mentioning that book is written by the authors after gathering  considerable experience in yoga teaching at many institutions including undergraduate diploma and  certificate program in Gampaha Ayurveda institute  and the B.SC  course on Green Technology in the faculty of agriculture, University of Ruhuna, Matara.

Prof. K.D.N. Weerasinghe the principal author of the book has more than 35 years of academic experience  in the Ruhuna university as a senior professor of Agric. Engineering and Dean of the faculty of agriculture. He has gone through the Yoga and Ayurveda methods of teaching  and research two year the Gampaha Wickramarachchi Ayurveda Institute is a internationally recognised scientist with expertise in many areas.

Mr. Leelananda  Wickramarachchi is a B.sc graduate of the Kelaniya University who devoted his entire life in Yoga teaching and research. He has gained wider experiences in number of Yoga centres in many countries in Asia, including, India, Thailand, Burma. He has already authored three Yoga books. He is the principal  academician of the diploma and certificate courses of the Yoga and relaxation techniques programmes  offered in GWAI. He is one of the pioneer authors who attempted to mix Yoga with traditional marshal arts such as angampora  in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Somi Palliyaguru has served in many universities of Sri Lanka, who got Yoga training from India and  completed both diploma and certificate courses of Yoga and mental  training in GWAI.

The authors has written the book in both Sinhala and English languages so that it could be used internationally. I wish the authors to come out with similar books  to heal the burning problems of the society by adopting and mixing traditional knowledge with modern knowledge.
