ROSE BUD

“Please bloom”

Said the sun.

Little Rose bud twisted shyly.

“It is to see you bloom, that I came so early in the morning”

Said the sun again.

The dewdrops were feeling very envious.

Do you know why?

It was because the sun loved Rose bud.

The dewdrops deserted Rose bud in anger.

Rosie is very sad.

“Look, now can I bloom? The dewdrops are angry at my blossoming.”

Throughout last night it was the dewdrops who looked after me,”

Said Rose bud as if in sorrow.

The white mist moved away a little.

The sun is having a long conversation with Rose bud.

“Forgive me. I will not use bad words again.”

Rose bud bent and looked towards the Sun.

“Ah! Never mind. Don’t make that mistake again. Alright, fair Rose bud.”

As the Sun said this Rose bud looked down, perhaps because she was sorry for what she had done.

“So tell me even now. Are you going to bloom?” the Sun asked kindly.

“Wait a while. I’ll ask mother.”

Rose bud got ready to go to Rose blossom.

“Wait, Wait, I’ll help you.”

Gentle Breeze wafted Rose bud close to Rose blossom.

Rose blossom is very busy. She has visitors. A swarm of Butterflies are visiting her on their pilgrimage to Adam’s peak. She moves this way and that to treat them.

“So go ahead ask mother.” Gentle Breeze said getting close to Rose bud.

Do not be unhappy about it.” Rose bud heard the Sun tell Gentle Breeze.

“Now when will you bloom, Rose bud?” Asked the Sun.

“Never mind Let her bloom (by and by) in her own time. She is still small.” Said the mother.

“Then the Bee, the Little Bird and the Butterfly will Become angry with her.” Mumbled Gentle Breeze.

“Blooming angers, annoys some people, not blooming angers others.

It is not possible to satisfy everyone. That is the way the world is.”

Said Rose blossom.

“Why, then cannot Rose bud bloom now?” Asked the Sun.

“She does not understand anything yet. She cannot bloom alone on her own,” answered Rose blossom.

“She still needs warmth. Let her be with me and grow a little larger.”

“There are full blown flowers (Flowers that have already bloomed) I shall suck nectar from them.

I wanted to leave those flowers alone in the hope that Rose bud would bloom. But I shall no do so now.”

“Why so (why is that)?” asked Gentle Breeze.

“It is a sin, no. The mother of these other flowers must be feeling sad,

Just like Rose Blossom.”

“Are you then thinking of keeping Rose bud with you close to you for all time.,” asked the Sun.

“No …. No …..” Answered Rose blossom.

“She Still has time to bloom. She must develop more, to be able to treat her friends who visst her. She has to learn to escape from enemies. There are many things to learn before blooming.”

“So we will teach her all these things.” Said Gentle Breeze in reply.

“You all have no time to teach her. There are things that you, yourselves have to do.
